The Indian government on Friday allowed OCI (Overseas Citizenship of India) cardholders to travel to the country amid the COVID-19 pandemic. India has attached certain conditions while allowing OCI cardholders to come to the country.
Only those persons meeting one of the following conditions will be allowed to travel to India:
- Minors on OCI, with parents being Indian nationals abroad
- Family emergencies like death
- Couples where one spouse is an OCI cardholder and the other is an Indian, with permanent residency in India
- University students who are OCI cardholders (not legally minors), with their parents living in India
