Troubles are mounted in Gorewada International Zoo when around 80 workers associated with the rescue center and safari operations ceased their work on Friday saying that they were forced to work through contractor company.
As per information, they have started an agitation in the morning from 10 am until 7 pm on Friday. It is in true sense affected functioning of the Gorewada Zoo. The workers alleged that they were working in Gorewada for the last 7-8 years without any complaint. And the land of some employees has lost due to the project. And they complained that for the past few months they are not provided with regular work. They alleged that they are being forced to work through the contractor company. And they have been asked to submit the documents for the company otherwise they are threatened to oust from the work.
Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Workers’ Federation, Sunil Gautam stated that the Gorewada administration is evading their responsibility by contractually appointing the workers. And the Gorewada administration has done nothing for the workers. He also condemned that the Federation issued a letter regarding the matter. However, they didn’t respond yet. At the same, Nandakishore Kale, a divisional officer of the Gorewada project said that the contract method is beneficial for the workers.
