As a precautionary measure and because of the upcoming summer the forest department has started the construction of the fire line in the forest area of the Seminary Hills which is placed right in the heart of the city.

Earlier, on Sunday 2.92 hectares of protected forest of Ambazari Biodiversity park was burnt in the fire. As per the information, the works will be completed by the end of January. In this regard, Forest Area Officer of the Seminary Hills Vijay Gangawane stated that because of the fire in summer the fire line is being built in the Seminary Hills area.
And in summer, there is a maximum possibility of wildfire in Ambazari and Seminary Hills forest areas. Due to these reasons, the construction of a fire line has been started in the forest area of the Seminary Hills. For this purpose, shrubs and grasses are being cut down at a short distance from the dense forest area adjacent to the Japanese Garden and a short distance from the back part of the deer sanctuary. Similarly; roadside shrubs are being removed from children’s parks to the front of the Transit Treatment Centre.
