A move to make the administration more effective and transparent the new municipal commissioner of Nagpur Tukaram Mundhe has fixed the responsibility of deputy commissioner-level officials. And he has also distributed the departments to the deputy commissioners.
Regarding this matter, he has issued an order on February 6. As per the order, three increased posts of deputy commissioner cadre of the civic body have been recognized. And there will be seven posts of deputy commissioner in NMC.
As per the official source, the deputy commissioner will be responsible for the head of the general administration department. He will see the work of commissioner, general administration department, establishment, security department, private vehicles of officers, store department, records department. And also have the responsibility of the social welfare department. And the head of the tax department will be the deputy commissioner (revenue). He will have property tax, LBT, GST, etc. The head of the encroachment department will also be the deputy commissioner.
The deputy commissioner of the health department will have solid waste administration, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, veterinary services. And Horticulture and trees authority department head will be the deputy commissioner. And the NMC secretary will be the head of the secretariat department. And the head of the education department will be the education officer. He will have the work of all educational services, primary school, secondary school, holistic education campaign, sports, and cultural department, library and study room, etc. The assistant director town planning of the city will be the head of the town planning department. And the head of the finance and department will be chief accounts and finance officer.
While the head of the audit department will be the chief auditor. The superintendent engineer will be the head of the public works department(PWD). He will have all kinds of work, vehicles, and mechanical department, building and construction work department, hot mix plant, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, etc. The superintendent engineer will be the head of the public health engineering department. He will have water supply, solid waste administration process, planning and management of contaminated water, Amrut Yojana (water supply ), etc.
Executive engineer level officers will be the head of the electricity department and environment department. And the chief traffic planning officer will be the head of the city traffic department. Chief of the fire department will be chief fire officer. Chief of the fire department will be chief fire officer. The chief of the health department (medicine) will be a medical health officer. And the director (Information Technology) will be the head of the information technology department. He will see the functioning of e-governance and civil facilities.
