Recently the mayor of the city, Sandip Joshi directed the health department to undertake to fog in the city as there is a spike in mosquitoes in the city. The menace of the mosquitoes are creating a problem for the citizens and so all the zones directed to immediately use the fogging machines. Mayor instructed Dr Pradeep Dasarwar, Health Officer, to ensure that without wasting time entire NMC machinery should take measures to control this problem.
It is very important to take the necessary steps to cease the problem as it may give rise to cases of malaria and that something not very feasible.
To make matter worse the intermittent rains only adds to trouble as at many places small water puddles get formed leading to further breeding of mosquitoes. He added that Ramdaspeth and Dhantoli areas are dotted with hospitals and they too are facing problems due to menace of mosquitoes. At Bhandewadi also the surrounding colonies residents have complained about increasing stench and also mosquitoes threat.
