After a long gap, the distribution of electricity reading and electricity bill has started again. This time, the consumers are approaching the MSEDCL offices to complain about the huge bills. As per information, MSEDCL has clarified that it is providing ‘slab benefits’ on these monthly bills.
If a customer is using 330 units, then the customer is being charged for the rate of 165 units. Here it should be noted that meter reading and bill distribution work was discontinued after declared lockdown. Now the customers are receiving bills due for the last two and a half months and if a customer has already paid the bill of the pending months, the bill is being adjusted.
While the customers have to pay the amount due for the last two and a half months, Mahavitran has claimed that they are providing slab benefits to customers.
The electricity bill is charged as per categories like zero to 100 units,101 to 300 units. The minimum category of electricity rates is low. And this is creating confusion among customers as they are being billed as per the slab. According to MSEDCL charges, other than fixed charges and electricity tax will be adjusted.
