The outbreak of COVID-19 has created an end number of difficulties for the people especially the holding of functions. After a long wait, the state government has permitted the holding of marriage functions in the banquet hall, marriage hall, non-air-conditioned halls, open place, lawns, and at home. Kishor Raje Nimbalkar, Secretary, Department of Disaster Management, Relief and Rehabilitation, Maharashtra State, has said that since monsoon has started permissions be given for organizing of marriage functions at public places. So far there was a ban on such permission leaving the organizers in the lurch as at many homes space was quite small even for holding a function with restriction of 50 persons.
Also due to rainy season holding functions at homes was a big problem owing to varied problems. Similarly, the owners of the marriage hall had petitioned the government seeking withdrawal of ban as it would put them in hardships even as establishment cost keeps rising. The state government has also informed that organizers and as well as lawns, banquet and hall owners should ensure that all the guidelines of social distancing are followed strictly. The maximum persons who can attend the marriage function should not cross 50.
