The state government on Friday told Bombay HC every COVID patient won’t require ambulances to be taken to a hospital or care center and other patients can find one on its website.
The statement was made before a bench headed by Chief Justice Dipankar Datta on a PIL. By former MP Kirit Somaiya on the shortage of ambulances during the lockdown.
Advocate general Ashutosh Kumbhakoni said the state’s website has a new feature on ambulances with their addresses and even a provision for logging complaints.
He said rates had been fixed too. The judges, in their order, said at the click of a mouse, patients would get to know the rates. As well as ambulances available in the vicinity, details of its owners. Also, the grievances cell to which a complaint could be addressed if a patient was turned down.
