Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce along with Jagnath Road Merchants Association has launched its flagship program to create awareness among customers and traders about COVID-19, standard operative procedures (SOP).
The awareness was launched at Vallabhacharya Marg, Gandhibagh. Prominently present on the occasion were Anees Ahmed, former Maharashtra Minister, Ashwin Mehadia, President of NVCC, Atul Kotecha, Secretary of MPCC, Kakku Marwaha, President of Nagpur Truckers Unity, Ram Avtar Totla, Secretary NVCC, Sanjay Agrawal, Vishwajeet Bhagat, Ritesh Modi, President of Jagnath Road Merchant Association, Kalpesh Madan, Secretary, and Pankaj Muniyar.
Ritesh Modi in his welcome address briefed about the program. He said, 50 volunteers, will supervise the market to ensure that physical distance is maintained, use of sanitizer, and follow the odd-even rule. In his address, Anees Ahmed appreciated the initiative of traders who are coming forward.
“It is time that each one should act as Corona warrior. Follow the guidelines and also ask others to follow,” he said.
Ashwin Agrawal appreciated the Jagnath Road Traders Association for coming forward to implement the program as per the directives of NVCC. “The same program will be launched in other markets including Gokulpeth and Ramdaspeth.
Traders should come forward to create awareness among customers and do business,” he said. Mehadia said, some shortlisted staff according to the odd, even rule will volunteer the market turn by turn and traders will not have to pay them extra.
“This will increase the footfall as customers will come to know that the market is safe,” Mehadia said. Kukku Marwaha said, traders in the city should follow the same rule in their respective areas, which will make the city a secure place for shopping.
Atul Kotecha also spoke on the occasion. He also congratulated the Corona warriors coming up for the social service. They include doctors, police, and team of local administration who are working day and night to fight the disease like COVID-19.
Looking at the daily increase in cases of COVID-19, it has become the need of the hour for all the citizens including traders to follow safety rules mentioned by the Government and local administration. “Volunteers deployed in markets will ensure safety norms,” he said.
